BUNTING FOR A HIT

A sneaky at bat
Bunting for a hit,
always a surprise

BUNTING FOR A HIT: Wesley Wolverine junior
#32 C/3B Kayla Fromal (Middletown, DE).
There's the (1) sacrifice bunt, (2) slap hit, and (3) bunt for a hit. Each has its own special technique, while bunting for a base hit might be labeled the “sneakiest”! Like a slapper, it is all about getting into position to make contact, while simultaneous tearing down the first base line. Unlike a slapper, intentions are not telegraphed until the very last second.

In the iSport video below, the steps toward successfully bunting for a hit are: ▲ Show bunt late ▲Drop back foot & arms ▲ Feet in running position ▲On contact, run!
