MTEF RISING STARS

This summer 2015
Coach Greep to participate in
MTEF Rising Stars tournament

Wesley Wolverine Head Coach Juli Greep never stops coaching. Volleyball in fall. Softball in spring. More softball while eyeballing potential recruits during the summer.

Head Coach Juli Greep
Last year, she was at the helm of one of several special Triple Crown showcase fastpitch teams at the Triple Crown Western World Series in San Diego, CA. This showcase event, conducted outside of regular tournament play, featured a crowd of 37 visiting college coaches from 23 states. In years prior, she has coached Triple Crown showcase events in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This summer, however, Coach Greep will have at least one showcase coaching experience that is much closer to the Wesley College campus. It is games played just north to New Castle County, about an hour's drive away.

It's the 2015 MTEF Rising Stars tournament held for one day only, Thursday, July 16, at Delcastle Rec, McKennans Church Road and Duncan Road, Wilmington, DE. "MTEF" stands for the McKensie Travis Educational Foundationestablished in memory of McKenzie Travis, an avid softball player, who died in a car accident January 22, 2006, at nineteen years old.

2015 MTEF Rising Stars tournament will be held
Thursday, July 16, at Delcastle Rec, Wilmington, DE.
The MTEF tournament plans call for 8 teams of 12 players each drafted from recruitable fastpitch softball players. Coaches will be drawn from volunteer travel and college teams.

Besides the showcase opportunity for pre-college players, MVP awards at these MTEF Rising Stars games are $1,000 scholarship for first place, a Crystl Bustos autographed DeMarini bat for the runner-up slot and $100 Outback gift card for third position. (A tournament committee votes on the winners.)

Further information about the MTEF Rising Stars tournament, contact: Jerry Kirby, 302-236-2274 (cell) or email jkirby1964@yahoo.com.

MORGAN SEYMOUR PROFILE

Player profile

Smyrna High School

College graduation year: Fall 2017

College Major: Sports Management

What I hope to do when I graduate: Attend Graduate School for my Masters in Sports Administration. From there I hope to either work at the National office (NCAA) or collegiate level in Event Management/ Operations, with the possibility of coaching as well.

Morgan brings base hits and power to the plate.

Academic achievements:
Dean’s List, President’s List 2013, NFHCA Academic Squad 2013

Morgan celebrating 21st birthday with her
mom Lisa, brother Ryan, & older sister Mary.
Campus clubs or organizations: SAAC President, Admissions Ambassador.

Academic trips taken: NCAA Convention 2015.
                    __________

Click here for an article about Morgan's NCAA Convention experience.
__________

Non-major course that I have enjoyed the most: Introduction to Acting. It was such a fun class and I was able to take the course with teammate Bre Hartman.

What I like best about college:
The field hockey team, as well as, how close-knit the college actually is; Wesley is a small school so your professors work with you one-on-one and the students get along with one another, specifically the student-athletes who support each other in their respected sports.

Morgan can play any position across the diamond. She also is a
dual sport athlete. Click here for her Wolverine Field Hockey roster bio.

My favorite spot on campus:
The locker room at Wesley West; I often go there early before practices and games to just mentally prepare or watch the food network and nap.

Olympics softball team along
with her Wolverine teammates
last spring at DuPont Field.
Things I like to do: Play field hockey; watch my younger brother play baseball; spend time with family and hang out with my friends.

What I did last summer: Worked multiple field hockey camps for kids ages 3-16.

Best advice I've received: “Everything is temporary” - Lisa Seymour

Favorite players: Derek Jeter, Cat Osterman, Jason Witten, Cam Newton, Keenan Robinson & Caitlin Van Sickle

Favorite teams: New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, & any Texas Longhorns team.

Favorite T.V Shows:
Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, Cupcake Wars, Criminal Minds,

Wild n’ Out, Property Brothers.

Co-Captain Morgan is a leader on and off the field

Favorite movies:
The Great Gatsby, Remember the Titans

game this past fall with Buddy,
friend of Morgan's mom Lisa.
Favorite quotes: “If you judge people, you have no time to love them” – Mother Teresa

“I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life…if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be” –Roald Dahl

(Background on my phone) “The last thing you want to do is finish playing or doing anything and wish you would’ve worked harder” –Derek Jeter

Who I would love to invite to dinner:
Ellen DeGeneres, Denzel Washington, and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

A goal I continually strive for: To inspire people. I want to be a positive energy for everyone and anyone around me. I believe people should embrace the life they’ve been given and if they aren’t happy, I hope they know they have the power and ability to make changes and be whoever they want to be, do whatever they want to do; it’s completely up to them. I want to help people understand how beautiful, although short lived, life actually is.
