The citation reads (with this blog's own added emphasis on her softball record placed in green type):
“Stefany Tiberi ('06) – Earning five All-PAC honors with three in field hockey and two in softball, Tiberi led the field hockey team to three PAC Championships and NCAA Tournament after being named PAC Championship Game MVP and All-Region in 2004. Named team captain in field hockey twice and once in softball, Tiberi still ranks seventh at Wesley with 19 career assists in field hockey and ranks among softball leaders in several categories. A member of the DIAA Field Hockey Committee, Tiberi coaches both field hockey and softball at Middletown High School after starting the field hockey team at Appoquinimink High School.”
As noted above, Stefany is the varsity softball head coach for the Middletown High School Cavaliers, where she also teaches, as well as a previous field hockey head coach for many years for the Appoquinimink High School Jaguars. Both schools are located a short distance north of the Wesley College campus.
Besides being a standout Wesley College athlete in her undergraduate days, when she pitched for the Wolverines softball team, Stefany also has strong ties to our current Wesley Wolverine fastpitch squad.
► She was Wesley Wolverine sophomore pitcher Lily Engel's pitching coach for two years during Lily's 2010 and 2011 high school seasons.
► She was Wesley Wolverine sophomore catcher Nina Marcano's Middletown High School softball varsity coach for four years, 2010- 2013.
Congratulations Stefany! The honor is so very well deserved!
