FIREFLY & BIG BARREL
Just 50 days away
Wolverines will work fund raising
at two music festivals this summer
Lucky Wesley Wolverines. They all have at least one summer job!
That is, guaranteed hours, albeit long shifts, for seven days over two weeks early this summer.
It is team fund raising at the Firefly Music Festival, Thursday-Sunday, June 18-21 and Big Barrel Country Music Festival, Friday-Sunday, June 26-28, in Dover, DE.
This year the Firefly Music Festival should be bigger than ever with the arrival of Paul McCartney, 139 nationally known musical acts, road trips, dance parties, crowd sing-a-longs, encores, silently discoing, hanging out in hammocks, crowd surfing, and, what the event boasts is “the best weekend of the summer.”
It all happens in the 105-acre Woodlands of Dover International Speedway, just a mile or so from the Wesley College campus.
Then, four days later, Dover welcomes three days of 38 country music top performers at the first annual Big Barrel Country Music Festival, Friday-Sunday, June 26-28.
So Wolverines mark the dates on your calendar – 6/18-21 & 6/26-28 – to serve as festival workers where, if past years are a guide, you will be serving an assortment of tacos, sweets and sodas amid hungry crowds and loud music.
Arrangements are made for teammates from out of town to typically bunk with local players.

NEW CO-CAPTAINS
Over the weekend, four new co-captains were named for Wesley Field Hockey's 2015 fall season.
For Wesley Softball fans, two of them, both multi-sport athletes, are familiar names.
Softball junior #22 C/UT Morgan Seymour (Smyrna, DE) and softball junior #32 C/3B Kayla Fromal (Middletown, DE) will now team up with their field hockey teammates junior #21 F Renee Schneider (New Castle, DE) and junior #1 F Meghan Groom (Bear, DE) as team leaders next season on the Scott D. Miller Stadium artificial turf.
Morgan and Kayla, of course, also are co-captains of the softball team.

WOLVERINE COOKOUT
Many thanks to Mark and Tina Hoffman, parents of freshman #99 P/OF Lauren Hoffman (Middletown, DE), for hosting this surprise cookout after the Juniata games.
Wolverine players, coaches and families dined on hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, corn on the cob, macaroni and cheese, salads, soda, and more!
Beautiful weather, two great games, and a terrific meal – a perfect Sunday before Wesley College finals begin in the morning!

A year of many firsts for Wesley
Lindsay and Kayla named
to 2015 all-conference teams
In a year of “firsts” for the Wesley Wolverines – 21 season wins, 11 straight victories, 5 consecutive shutouts won – it's time to add two more!
A tip of the cap to two individual players who were instrumental in the records set and now share their own “first” for being the first two Wolverines being named together in the same year to the Capital Athletic Conference's (CAC's) softball All-Conference teams.
► LINDSAY SIOK #12 P/MI, a sophomore and Exercise Science major from Milford, DE, has been named 2nd team, ALL-CAC TEAM AS A PITCHER.
► KAYLA FROMAL #32 C/3B, a junior and Exercise Science major from Middletown, DE, has been named 2nd team, ALL-CAC TEAM AS A DESIGNATED HITTER.
LINDSAY SIOK
Lindsay dazzled batters all year by hitting spots and changing speeds. For nine days over 5 games (3/17-3/25) she pitched 20 consecutive shutout innings. It took the #2 nationally ranked Salisbury Sea Gulls to finally score on her.
Lindsay leads Wesley pitchers with 10 wins on the season, 103 innings pitched, 73 strikeouts and a 3.06 ERA. Across the entire conference, she is currently tied for 4th place in Ks and holds 8th place for ERA.
KAYLA FROMAL
Kayla may be the Wolverines secret weapon in an arsenal of potent bats. An athletic third base player who instinctively snatches line drives belted above her head and dives for hard hit shots down the line, Kayla is most intimidating at the plate where she walloped 18 RBI for a .435 on-base-percentage and a .423 slugging percentage.
Often a designated hitter for which she has earned all-conference recognition, Kayla performed the difficult task of staying loose and warm between at-bats to consistently make that important difference in key situations when she stepped to the plate.
Congratulations Lindsay and Kayla for your all-conference selection. Your contributions to the team's successful, winning year have been huge!

Colleges “declaring” interest for
ECAC championship is growing
Two more colleges have joined the “South Declared Teams” showing interest in the 2015 ECAC Division III Softball Championships, May 6, 9 & 10, 2015. The Wesley Wolverines sit at the top of the list online, which does not signal any kind of an advantage.
The newcomers are the Marywood Pacers and the Misericordia Cougars. That brings the total under consideration to 17 of which 8 will be chosen for tournament play.
There's still 24 hours left for schools to “declare” and join this increasingly crowded field of teams seeking entry to the 3-day playoff.
The committee making the selections, which will be based on each team's record and strength of schedule, plan to announce the colleges they have paired off for the championship competition on Monday, May 4.
Click here to keep an eye on any new teams that may still be added before tomorrow's Friday, April 24 deadline.

DOANE WALK-OFF
The Doane Tigers (D2/ Crete, Nebraska) celebrated their first conference title in the college's softball history yesterday, April 21, 2015, in a come-from-behind win against the Hastings Broncos.
It happened via a walk-off bunt single!
